Koh Phangan is approximately 2 1/2 hours from Don Sak and approximately 45 minutes from Koh Samui Island by ferry. The cheapest way from Bangkok to Koh Phangan is to buy ajoint ticket from Songserm Travel who operates joint ticket for (Boats and Express boats, bus, trains, planes) to Phangan. Or another option is to get an 60 minute flight by Bangkok Airways daily from Bangkok to Koh Samui and get the catamaran speed boat to Phangan. Ko Phangan used to be the hippy heaven, nowadays a 'broader range' of tourists come to the island here. But they all want to find a laid back and easy going place. Situated in the Gulf of Thailand Koh Pha-ngan is sister island to the popular tourist destination of Koh Samui that get visited by over 1.5 million visitors each year.
